This pineapple-vanilla arrangé is made with ripe pineapple, a Bourbon vanilla pod from Madagascar, AOC rum from Martinique, and fair-trade certified organic sugar from Brazil.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose is very powerful and fruity, with explosive pineapple invading the nostrils. A touch of acidity balances out the sweetness, keeping contact with a fresh, light agricultural rum. Of course, this is still a rather sweet rhum arrangé, and the citrus fruits take on the appearance of candied zest. The pineapple is still there, as if in a thick syrup.
The palate is round and fruity, then finds a nice balance thanks to fairly strong peppery notes, without of course upsetting the whole. This white rum from Martinique, with its hints of bagasse and citrus fruit, is perfectly distinguishable. It provides the foundation for this gourmet rhum arrangé, which generously pours out its sweet fruits and spices.
The finish is definitely rum, still with that peppery bagasse, but also, and above all, with the pineapple still pumped up.
