Breiz'Île Fruits Rouges is a maceration of Plougastel strawberries, blueberries, blackcurrants and cinnamon in Guadeloupe agricultural rum.
This rhum arrangé is a bridge between the West Indies and Brittany. The Breiz'Île founders (from Brittany) worked as restaurateurs in Guadeloupe, serving their arranged rums to delighted customers. Their customers advised them to sell their rums, and that's how the story began. Plougastel, where the strawberries in the recipe are grown, is the Breton peninsula where the artisanal company is located.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose of this rhum arrangé is elegant and complex. Like its deep color, it is candied and intriguing. One imagines ripe fruit, with greedy skins and fragrant cores. One might even think of a heady, floral register, with hibiscus and silky petals.
The palate is just as elegant and flavorful as the nose. The sugar is very discreet, precisely measured, as is often the case with Breiz'île rums. Heady, almost floral aromas take the form of precious spices, followed by greedy red fruits.
"An arrangé full of elegance, complex and elaborate flavors..."
