This Mauritius is a rum distilled at the Labourdonnais distillery in 2010.
This distillery was founded in 2006 on the site of a former rum mill. It produces rum from pure sugarcane juice in a column still.
This cuvée has hardly had time to age in the tropics, since it was imported to England in 2011. Nevertheless, it spent most of its ageing in American oak barrels.
Only at the end of its ageing did this rum benefit from a finish in a barrel that had previously contained cognac.
Bottled at 47°. The rum was not filtered.
