Bruichladdich Islay Barley 2012 8 Year Old is an unpeated single malt whisky from the island of Islay, Scotland. This terroir whisky is made with malts from 8 farms in the west and center of the island. These include Coull, Rockside, Sunderland, Island, Mulindry, Starchmill, Cruach and Dunlossit. Barley varieties grown here include Concerto, Oxbridge, Propino and Publican. And to make things even more transparent, we use Mauri and Kerry strains of yeast.
Ageing took place in 75% ex-bourbon casks. The remaining 25% were French oak barrels that had contained wine.
