This Clément vieux AOC Martinique is a rum made from the distillation of fresh cane juice.
Aged partly in new oak barrels, partly in barrels previously used for spirits, it can be enjoyed as an after-dinner drink, or as a ti' punch.
An ideal format for fans of this agricultural rum!
Yoann's tasting notes
The nose of this rum is sweet and rather simple. Notes of vanilla tickle our nostrils with a maximum of delicacy. The fatty pods accompany a creamy caramel cream sprinkled with finely toasted grated coconut. Roasted notes appear. Hints of cocoa finally mark this rather pleasant nose that only asks to come back.
The palate is filled with island spices (cinnamon, vanilla, etc.). The alcohol is present but does not disturb, it brings a certain character to this palate that transcribes what the nose offered us as aromas. The woodiness is both light and elegant. Notes of milk chocolate complete the picture with some dried fruits.
The finish , medium long, remains on this note of milk chocolate with fine almond shards.
