Dalmore 12 ans 40° : Description and customer reviews

Dalmore 12 Year Old is a single malt whisky. It is blended from half ex-bourbon casks and half ex-Sherry Oloroso casks.

Tasting notes from Thomas

The nose opens with an array of dried fruits: walnuts, hazelnuts, cashews. This is followed by oranges, a hint of chocolate and cherry. After a few moments, spices make their appearance: cumin, curry, clove. Finally, there's a creamy impression that seems to envelop the entire fragrance.

The palate is very easy and offers a palette quite similar to that of the nose. We start with caramelized dried fruits (walnuts, hazelnuts) and spices (cloves, white pepper, cumin) before moving on to a fruity range. We discover yellow fruits, cherries (creamy candies) and oranges. These flavors are mingled with cocoa, without the latter really taking off.

The finish isn't very powerful, but there are still red fruits, a few exotic touches and caramelized dried fruits. Spices return more powerfully (clove, gray pepper, cumin) but not alone (cherry mainly).

" A whisky that enhances its classicism with its combination of fruit and spice...".

    always a treat ...

  2. Paul Iverno

    I think Dalmore is overpriced
A better choice for a whisky of this type is either glendronach 12 better and cheaper
or redbreast 12 years, better and cheaper
