Here is the second batch of Edradour 12 year old 2011 Cask Strength Sherry Oloroso whiskey.
This is a single malt whisky produced in the Highlands by the Edradour distillery.
This second edition of the 2011 vintage also benefited from 12 years of aging in Oloroso sherry butts . These are 500-liter casks used exclusively for aging sherry.
Eight casks were selected and blended here. They bore the numbers 204, 214, 215, 219, 220, 221, 222 and 230.
Bottling was done without reduction, without filtration and without any addition. 5,100 bottles of this batch were released on June 30, 2023.
Jérémie's tasting notes
On the nose : raisins mingle with wood; leather and orange zest accompany the cereals.
On the palate : notes of stewed fruit release sweet spices (cinnamon, clove), orange peel and dark chocolate.
The finish : long, with notes of dark chocolate and citrus peel.
