Emperor Royal Spiced is a spiced rum from Mauritius based onEmperor Héritage. Initially, we have pure juice rums and molasses rums aged in American and French oak barrels. This base is blended and then passed through 4 types of casks seasoned with spices (cardamom, cinnamon, star anise, vanilla). A new blend is then made from these 4 rums.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose carries powerful yet sweet aromas. The rum is rather heavy, with overripe exotic fruits, but also vanilla in syrup, spices and caramel. It's all rather confusing. The rum then settles on sweet notes of strawberry candy and cream.
The palate is very round, with a barley-sugar flavor. The spices kick in and begin to crackle on the tongue, leading to a frankly spicy phase that rises to the nose. The sweetness of vanilla covers the fire and plunges the rum into infinite confectionery.
