Famille Ricci & Old Brothers is the first white rum produced in collaboration between the two bottlers. "The people are thirsty, let's give them something to drink". That's their idea for a fine white tasting rum.
This is a blend of pure cane juice rums from Martinique (JM), Marie Galante (Bielle) and Cape Verde (Grogue). The blend is brewed and left to rest for 8 months in amphoras, to ensure proper oxygenation of the rum.
2000 numbered bottles are available on the market.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose is lively and very vegetal; it goes straight for fresh cane, with fresh, green juice and an almost mineral clarity. Bagasse and cane bark add a hard, solid edge, tinged with gray pepper.
With aeration, the rum retains its frank, powerful character. A few bright, metallic notes underpin this solidity.
The palate is also very vegetal, and takes the cane juice deeper, reaching notes of fermentation. There's a resolutely iodized note, with a hint of steamed artichokes. The full-bodied character is expressed through green pepper and bitter combava peel.
The finish is long, with very authentic, almost earthy, fermented cane juice.
"An uncompromising white rum, as close to the earth as possible..."
