Ferroni Honey Rum is a subtle marriage between IGP Provence lavender honey, saffron produced just outside Marseille (the real thing at €30,000/kg...), and of course amber rum (the same blend used to make Rosé Rhum Blend, but without the Rasteau barrel ageing, so 1 year ageing in Cognac barrels).
Laurent's tasting notes
Her dress is straw.
On the nose, honey appears immediately, but in the form of honey candy. It's not too sweet and the alcohol is marked.
On the palate, the attack is sweeter than the nose had led us to believe. Honey is still the main marker. A touch of spice awakens the whole.
The finish is fairly long, with more honey, of course. The impression remains one of sweetness, underlined by a light touch of vanilla.
