On the nose 👃🏻: the rye expresses itself generously in the glass, and you can't miss it, even if its sweetness may deceive some. There's a gourmand note of corn and even honey in the background, with a rich, spicy woodiness. Cinnamon and brown sugar are the main ingredients, along with rye. On aeration, there's a hint of fruitiness, like orange peel with bitter almond.
On the palate 👅: I find it unctuous and almost buttery on entry, really delicate despite the spices that arrive in the aftermath and which don't deceive us about its composition. There's a lovely almond note with cinnamon, rye that delivers a slightly lemony flavor, and oak wood that, although very marked for a product that's still young, blends perfectly with all this without any bitterness or tannins. Brown sugar harmonizes all this.
The finish is long and spicy. The oak wood first keeps the upper hand with pepper this time, which becomes more pronounced, then I find orange peel to a lesser extent with butterscotch 👌
Verdict ⚡️: American Whiskies never cease to amaze me. Despite some still young products, some distilleries like here manage to obtain juices with rich, ample flavors that are not lacking in greed and complexity at the same time 🤠 This Few Rye is once again a fine product to discover.
