Gin Kreyol by juillet is a creation of Marseille-based Maison Ferroni. Guillaume Ferroni, passionate about the world of bars and spirits, constantly explores and agitates this universe with all the creativity that characterizes him.
This tropical gin is at the crossroads of two cultures. It is made from redistilled agricultural rum in a small still dating from 1800. The fruits are typical of July in the South of France: apricot, melon and white peach. They are infused with tropical spices such as ginger, Ceylon cinnamon and allspice. The traditional juniper berry is also present, alongside a handful of citrus fruits.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose is very sweet and spicy, with citrus peel spiked with cloves, cinnamon, licorice and lemongrass. This gin is reminiscent of spiced rum, then eau de Cologne, with a pretty bitterness of pink grapefruit and fresh, almost woody notes.
The palate is soft, fluid and as fragrant as ever. The floral character is enhanced by juniper berry, which unfolds resinous nuances of pine, Alpine candy and a bitterness that takes us back to a more traditional gin, reinforced with grapefruit peel.
"A highly original, fragrant gin, bordering on spiced rum..."
