Gold of Mauritius Black 48 Edition is a more intense version of Gold of Mauritius Dark Rum .
It is notably reduced to 48° instead of 40°.
Yoann's tasting notes
When you pass your nose over the glass, you find yourself confusing the tasting glass with a cup of creamy hot chocolate. The nose is vanilla and chocolatey as desired. Notes of toasted walnuts and almonds are present. A roasted banana and a roasted peach are also included. Everything is placed on a very dry oak board.
The mouthfeel is soft and creamy, comforting as can be. The alcohol is controlled and gives way to hot chocolate topped with whipped cream. The deliciousness of this drink is comforting, whatever the season. Almond slivers are sprinkled on top and complete this moment. Some notes of candied prunes are there. The woodiness remains measured.
The finish is rather long and keeps the focus of the tasting, namely the notes of cocoa and candied fruit.
