This Grosperrin 18 ans Bois Ordinaires cognac comes from the Ile d'Oléron, more precisely from the commune of St Pierre d'Oléron. The small estate where this cognac was produced ceased operations in 2007 following the retirement of its owner.
If we look at the stocks of this appellation, we can see that old cognacs from the Ile d'Oléron are very rare, and are now estimated to be almost 30 times rarer than those of the grands crus.
This cognac has undergone no treatment apart from the addition of a little water during ageing to slightly reduce its degree. Since distillation, it has been aged in a rather dry cellar.

A very new edition from a famous house. I have to try soon.
