Guillaume de Roany Montebello Navy Strength 57°: Description and customer reviews

This Navy Strength agricultural rum is produced by the Montebello distillery in Petit-Bourg, Guadeloupe.

It is column-distilled from pure sugarcane juice, then transported under sail in an inert container to preserve its sparkling color and fresh cane aromas. The Gallant is a two-masted sailing ship built in the Netherlands in 1916. This mode of transport makes it possible to decarbonize maritime freight transport as much as possible.

This white rum is reduced to an alcohol level that pays homage to the Royal British Navy. In fact, the sailors only consumed spirits with a minimum strength of 57°. This allowed the flammable properties of gunpowder to be retained if alcohol was inadvertently spilled on it.
