HSE 1960 Grande Réserve 45°: Description and customer reviews

HSE 1960 Grande Réserve is a real treasure that Habitation Saint-Étienne offers to lovers of great bottles.
One of the oldest vintages in the world, this aged rum is a true gem, revealing incomparable aromas that pay tribute to the centuries-old know-how of the distillery and of Martinique as a whole.

Distilled in 1960 and passed down through the generations until it was bottled, Grande Réserve withstood the distillery's closure in 1988 before the new management team enhanced its value by continuing the maturation process.

Enthusiasts are treated to a unique tasting experience in which the island terroir and the long years spent in oak barrels come to the fore.

Tasting notes

The result of a long aging and maturing process, HSE 1960 Grande Réserve has a beautiful amber color with astonishing russet highlights. The leg is thick.
On the nose, notes of roasted Ethiopian mocha, old leather and dried fruit come together in harmony. The whole is expressed in a perfect harmony that time has bestowed.

The palate is equally balanced, with a smooth attack. The aromas appreciated on the nose are confirmed in intensity, and the length of this cuvée allows tasting to continue to unsuspected limits.
