Le Nouveau Monde is a subtle composition of four vintages (including 1979, we've managed to find out), created by Maison La Mauny's cellar master.
Laurent's tasting notes
Its color is amber.
On the nose, this is a very promising rum: complex, well-balanced, and not devoid of deliciousness. Whether sweet spices, nuts, chocolate or woody notes, all these aromas combine beautifully to create a beautiful profile. It's also slightly powdery.
On the palate, the attack is soft and not explosive: the aromas develop as you hold it in your mouth. Spices (less sweet this time) return to the fore, combined with wood. It's simpler than on the nose, and its "warm" profile is pleasant.
The finish is very long. The wood, which takes on tannic accents, has the upper hand, as do the spices. A slight metallic edge also appears.
