Nico's tasting notes
In brief: fruit - round - sweet spices
On the nose, there's no doubt that citrus fruits are in the limelight. The lemon syrup is powerful, very sweet, with the bitterness of its zest as a backdrop. A confectionery atmosphere reigns here, all the more so as the powdery side of a lavender or strawberry marshmallow softens the onslaught of lemon.
Aeration continues to soften the powerfully sweet profile with a touch of vanilla and bitter orange.
On the palate, the sweetness dissipates fairly quickly, giving way to lemon and orange. Likewise, the bitterness retreats somewhat in favor of a refreshing acidity. Mild spices like vanilla then color the still-fresh grapefruit skin.
The finish continues on grapefruit before evoking a family of candied, slightly spicy citrus fruits.
"This rum, which is more of a liqueur, is best enjoyed as a digestif with an ice cube..."
