Labourdonnais Infusion Passion-Ananas is an arranged rum produced by hand in Mauritius. Located in Mapou, this distillery uses fresh cane juice to make its rums.
The island's two seasons call for different crops and therefore limited collections. Once harvested on the Labourdonnais distillery estate, the fruit is steeped for a long time in white rum, before being sweetened by the addition of cane syrup, also produced locally.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose is all passion fruit, from the woody bitterness of the seed to the sweet, tangy flesh. As for pineapple, it brings the richness of its flesh and thick juice, carried by very sweet pure cane juice rum.
On the palate, pineapple takes the lead, screaming with naturalness and ripeness. You can feel the sweet flesh and even the slightly vegetal skin, leading naturally to the concentrated seeds of passion fruit. The pure cane juice rum expresses itself in length, with the tangy juice of passion fruit.
