Nico's tasting notes
In brief: fresh - fruit - flowers - vegetable - strong spices
The nose opens with a fresh, light rum with lemony accents. The cane is flowery and slightly acidic; it seems sweet and a little spicy. Later, this blend of citrus and floral aromas is confirmed, reinforcing the sensation of lightness and freshness. The little pepper typical of rhum agricole takes a backseat to these floral notes.
Aeration takes us into slightly different, steeper terrain. The rum gains in depth and spice, becoming more penetrating. Its fresh, lemony, floral character can still be appreciated when left to rest.
The palate is lively and gripping, with the pepper attacking and then unfolding its flavors throughout the entire tasting experience. The backbone of this rum, it uses bagasse to embrace the taste buds, before rounding out on contact with sugar syrup. It then spreads out into tangy, floral notes, fading with the fire of alcohol.
The finish is soft, with floral, slightly acidic aromas and a hint of sweet fruitiness.
