Nico's tasting notes
In brief: fruit - sweet spices - wood - pastry.
On the nose, this is a very fruity spiced, marked above all by citrus fruits. The fact that it's an agricultural rum surely has something to do with it, beyond the fact that orange peel has been incorporated into the recipe. This festive rum seems quite sweet, and a candy-like impression emerges. For the time being, the spices remain very fresh and vegetal.
With aeration, the natural alliance of orange and cinnamon takes shape, while the rum begins to settle and gain in mellowness. Subtle woody notes intrude, adding undeniable refinement. Anise, turmeric and licorice also come to mind.
The palate is soft but not too sweet, and the identity of the rhum agricole is clearly not forgotten, making this rum particularly well-balanced. Cinnamon crowns the whole with its greediness, and the light woodiness gives it just the right grip on the palate. The spicy bouquet lifts the intensity. Notes of milk chocolate linger in the distance, with a supple, suave character.
The finish is pastry-like, with hints of prunes and prune pits, underlined by a typically agricultural pepper that will permeate the taste buds for quite some time.
"A spiced rum that's suitable even as a tasting for a moment of indulgence. Its strong point is really its balance on the palate and its finish, which invites you to return..."
