Legendario Añejo Blanco is a Cuban rum with a unique flavor. It is a fusion of several soleras aged one, four and six years. The blend is then aged in American oak barrels for four long years before undergoing filtration.
The strength of Legendario Añejo Blanco makes it ideal for cocktails such as Cuba Libre.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose opens with sweet aromas of vanilla and, above all, full-bodied blond tobacco. The impression is soft, even sweet, with a pleasant woodiness that flatters the nostrils. A sense of balance also emerges, with molasses slightly spiking the profile. With a little rest, the rum becomes more vegetal, then fruity. With the arrival of heavy candied fruit, a more pastry-like, aroma-laden facet develops under the nose. Among these candied fruits, the amarena cherry adds a touch of acidity/candy, which always contributes to the feeling of balance.
Aeration gives way to spices, with vanilla in the lead. Confectionery and pastry still vie for the spotlight, somewhere between sour candy and marzipan. The rum is now less heavy, taking flight on something more vegetal and fresh, like a strawberry salad with basil.
On the palate, the heavier aromas resist and have not said their last word. They coexist with tangy candy, for a surprisingly appealing blend. Ripe, exotic fruit brings consistency and roundness, while spices like cinnamon warm things up. The latter are very present in the mid-palate, when the rum warms the taste buds, almost making you think of a spiced rum at that very moment. Then the rum fades, becoming light, with a hint of alcohol.
On the finish, cherry candy titillates ripe exotic fruit, for a rather original and surprising combination.
"This rum seems to have undergone a vitamin treatment: while one guesses a purely "Latino" profile in the first moments, fruity aromas in various forms come to kick the anthill..."

I use this rum to make mojitos and find it well-balanced.

I couldn't finish the glass with this gift sample. Poor integration of the alcohol, more like vodka than cane spirit.

This is the rum for cocktails !!!!
On the nose: cane and sugar (caramel), but also fruity aromas.
On the palate, this is a liqueur-like rum that's very pleasant to drink dry. The notes of the nose are present, but there's a little more intensity and fruitiness.
The finish is quite long.
It's a fake white rum because of the time it spent in casks, but for this price, it's just excellent. I've tried it in cocktails, and it gives the drink a real boost. It really adds to the overall effect and blends in very well.
