Les Arrangés Chatel Gingembre Passion is an arranged rum with a long Reunionese tradition. It is made from Savanna rum, one of the island's most famous distilleries. Maceration is based on passion fruit (maracuja) and ginger, with cane sugar coating the fruity/spicy marriage. This rum is best enjoyed chilled, or even frosted.
Nico's tasting notes
On the nose, this gourmet rhum arrangé reveals a well-rounded, sweet character. The spiciness of ginger and the acidity of passion fruit provide a pleasant contrast, taking us surprisingly close to grapefruit.
On the palate, the roundness of the rum delivers an initial impression of grapefruit. Then the ginger takes over with a slight spicy warmth, to finally give way to a very gourmet consistency, close to a passion fruit cheesecake.
