Les Rhums de Ced Point G Rhum Blanc Agricole 2019 50° is a great first, because it is not an arranged rum strictly speaking. This time, it's a blend of white rums from Martinique and Guadeloupe which spent two months in a saltworks in the Breton marshes. The result is an agricultural white rum with iodized accents and a unique aromatic profile.
Nico's tasting notes
Fresh, bright cane on the nose, with a very clean profile. This authentic rhum agricole reveals peppery, vegetal and dry aromas reminiscent of bagasse. This cane fiber harbors a sweet juice that begins to ferment and develop exotic notes.
Aeration brings additional freshness, with velvety green aromas. Lemon thyme and mint caress the lime, creating a unique profile. It's like having a ready-made ti'punch, just missing a little grain of sugar.
On the palate, the feel is oily and particularly pleasant. This silky-smooth texture allows us to appreciate the cane and its candied citrus fruits, with a gourmet, consistent chewiness. A hint of acidity awakens the taste buds on the mid-palate, with perfect timing.
The finish is greedy and fruity, with candied lime zest sticking to the palate.
"Ced's magic also works on white rums, as this one offers a touch rarely found on an agricole."
