From one of the most beautiful distilleries in the West Indies, bordered by coconut palms, this white rum of pure cane juice comes exclusively from the estate's blue and red canes. Fermented naturally, with no additives, the vesou is distilled on a traditional Savalle column, then bottled on the estate.
Don't be fooled by its high alcohol content ( 62° ), this rum is a brute with a tender heart. Pride of the Longueteau distillery, very popular with local enthusiasts, it is similar to the rum which flows at the exit of the distillation column. Its slight reduction using spring water from the Soufrière volcano makes it a nectar to be enjoyed frosted, at room temperature for the more adventurous, and of course as a Ti'punch.
For several years now, competition judges have been recognizing its exceptional qualities and regularly awarding it prizes.
Laurent's tasting notes
Its color is translucent.
On the nose, sugarcane is clearly present. Vegetal and slightly earthy notes complement the fresh cane. Discreet floral touches are a little in the background. Alcohol makes itself felt.
On the palate, sugarcane dominates. The alcohol is pronounced and heats up the mouth; fortunately, a certain sweetness counterbalances this power. The vegetal side is present in the background.
Long, cane finish. Floral and earthy notes return.

Excellent product....but expensive compared to the exit price in the West Indies!

Very good as usual

This rum surprised me nicely. I suspect it's got a reasonable proportion of red cane component, giving it a somewhat nicely sweet, but at the same time dry Agricole style flavour. Another top Rhum from Marie Galante.

The alcohol content may worry some, but it doesn't overwhelm the mouth. Very good in a 'ti punch. To be enjoyed in moderation, of course.

super rum for a lemon ginger rhum arrangé

An interesting nose without being extraordinary. The cane is beautiful but lacks the intensity to be grandiose.
On the palate, the cane is not very intense. There's something very interesting about this rum. There's a slight sweetness that rounds out the palate. It's not a Legendario rum, but I find the sweetness very interesting.
After tasting, I discovered the degree of alcohol. 62% !!!!! is amazing, because in the mouth, I'd have gone for a 40% rum. Excellent work by Longueteau. Nice balance. It's a pity there isn't more intensity, otherwise it would have been an exceptional white rum.
A fairly short finish.
It's a rum that can be used in cocktails, with its slightly sweet side. I think it would be interesting as a rhum arrangé or punch.
4-4.25/5
Excellent value for money
In my top 5 for white rum pure cane juice
