Longueteau Blanc 50° – 1 liter! : Description and customer reviews

This white rum is produced at Guadeloupe's smallest distillery, the Espérance distillery in Capesterre. The pure cane juice used comes entirely from the estate's own land, where both blue and red cane are grown. Longueteau owns both its cane and its machinery, which enables them to harvest at the best possible time the cane to which they have paid the greatest attention.

Fermented naturally, simply using sourdough, the vesou activates for 48 hours, before being distilled in a Savalle copper and stainless steel column.
To reach 50° , the reduction with Soufrière spring water and the brewing are done slowly in vats before bottling this fine and aromatic rum which can be enjoyed both neat and in Ti'punch .

It has won numerous awards in international competitions, including the Concours Général Agricole.

Laurent's tasting notes

Its color is translucent.

On the nose, this is a typical agricole, just as we like it. The fresh cane juice is striking in its intensity, but is supported by the freshness of the citrus fruit and a slight headiness provided by floral aromas. There's also a hint of saltiness.

On the palate, the attack is surprisingly soft for 50° and the alcohol comes next. The cane juice largely dominates and an earthy touch appears.

The finish is naturally on fresh cane, but the earthy, vegetal side becomes increasingly prominent.
