Nico's tasting notes
The nose is very sweet, and immediately spreads out into a fruity, vanilla and caramelized delicacy. A whiff of roasting spices things up a bit, but the damp woodiness brings us back to something very mellow.
Aeration raises a dusting of roasted nuts, as well as slivers of a very appetizing nougatine. Walnuts and hazelnuts are like nuggets from the oak barrel, lightly coated with red fruit.
The palate is as sweet as the nose, and immediately envelops the taste buds with juicy, woody caramel. American oak is undoubtedly the master on board. It relentlessly unfurls its delicacy of soft wood, blond tobacco and vanilla. The more roasted notes remain more in the background, or rather in support.
The finish is rather dark and toasty, with a few spices still teeming on the palate.
"A greedy but balanced rum, with an impression of sweetness both on the nose and on the palate..."
