Malecon 1987 is part of the "Seleccion Esplendida" series, which brings together the house's finest vintages. This molasses rum was column-distilled in Panama. It is then aged in old bourbon casks. It is made according to the Cuban method, which involves a succession of complex blends of concentrated rums (aguardientes) and light rums.

Disappointing.

An aromatic and delicate rum. Chocolate, vanilla and lightly fruity with a hint of smoke. A few degrees more would make it even better, but it's really good and makes you want to try the rest of the range.
