Produced by the Montebello distillery for the commander of the gendarmerie forces in Guadeloupe and the northern islands, this white rum cuvée bears the name "La Brigade".
Made from a blend of rums from the 2019 and 2020 harvests, this white rum has been carefully crafted to perfect its aromatic power.
This selection was produced in a limited edition of just 971 numbered copies.
Nico's tasting notes
On the nose, you immediately fall under the expressive spell of this cane brandy. Everything is already in place, from the ripe, sweet, fruity cane, to the more iodized notes of fermentation, to an almost minty, licorice-like freshness.
Aeration gives the fruit a chance to take center stage, in the image of an oily, bitter and juicy lime zest, truer than life. This is a rum with character that now speaks for itself, notably through a cane with solid, spicy bark.
The palate is also immediately charmed, with a milk chocolate bubble that melts on the tongue as an introduction. From this roundness emerge aromas that unfold in all directions: lime juice just squeezed over a ti'punch, planty but sun-drenched cane fiber, or pepper with lightly woody accents.
The finish is very quiet but delicious, the rum fading into a cottony, delicately fruity vapor.
