Montebello 3 ans aged rum is made from pure cane juice. It is aged entirely in the cellars of the Carrère distillery, owned by Montebello rums, in ex-bourbon American oak barrels.
This cuvée replaces the previous version of 3-year-old rum.

On the nose 👃🏻: you can still smell the fresh cane of this relatively young rum, but it's above all the almond, vanilla and pastry notes that immediately strike you. It's relatively lively, with hints of the acidity of a crisp, just-ripe apple. As the glass is aired, it becomes rounder, with slightly peppery notes and licorice that becomes increasingly noticeable in the glass.
On the palate 👅: it's very round and sweet on the attack, with the return of pastry notes and above all strong pepper notes that then develop throughout the mouth. We also have a woodiness that finally appears, not excessive but quite damp and roasted with a little vanilla and nutmeg on the side
The finish 👌: the finish remains on light notes between drier wood and nutmeg mainly, as well as a little vanilla that lingers in the background for deliciousness. Moderately long.
What a wonderful discovery once again. It has a very pastry-like profile that I've never had before with my other bottles, at least nothing this clean. It will be particularly appreciated as an after-dinner drink, if possible with a small delicacy to eat alongside to enhance it 🤤
