Montenegro Amaro is a traditional Italian liqueur produced since 1885 in Bologna, Italy. It is made from a blend of 40 plant extracts from all over the world, according to a secret recipe.
The plants are chopped, mixed, covered with water and boiled for just the right amount of time. The essence of the plants is extracted through several stages of maceration and distillation. The 12 essences obtained are blended to deliver 6 precise aromatic notes, then alcohol, water and sugar are added.
