New Grove Royal Blend is a blend of three vintages from the Mauritian distillery (1969, 2005 and 2007) and three finishes (acacia cask, chestnut cask and port cask).
This rum is guaranteed 100% natural, with no added caramel or sugar, and has not been filtered before bottling to preserve all its organoleptic qualities.

Nico's tasting notes
The nose is immediately complex and seductive. It mischievously combines the New Grove character of slightly tarry, industrial notes with a honeyed sensation balanced by tangy red fruits. Beneath the toasty, even burnt, structure lies a reserve of exotic fruits whose juices blend and stew in harmony.
Aeration rids the nose of the harshest, most metallic notes, leaving us with the pleasure of red fruits and dried fruits (apricot, prune) from which we know they draw their richness. Alternately embellished with molasses or caramel, we never tire of admiring them, until we've exhausted them and come across a woodiness that has held its own all this time.
The palate has all the qualities of the first nose, with a well-balanced intensity. Metallic notes join harmoniously with red fruits, integrated into an oxidized, roasted complexity. The palate is well-balanced, sweet rum but certainly not sugary. There are hints of cinnamon-baked apple, honey, blackberry and quince. This rum could be described as autumnal.
The finish is sweet but rather long, with stone and dried fruit.

Nose: This is a molasses rum. There are notes of molasses, caramel, wood and light smoke. Then come notes of licorice and tobacco.
Powerful and complex;
Taste: Caramel, tobacco, spices (nutmeg, licorice), molasses, lemon and English candy. The smokiness of the nose is also present. A very interesting rum. Balanced, complex and powerful.
A finish of spices, tobacco and English candy.
A very good rum. You have to like spices and tobacco notes. There's nothing negative to say about this rum.
