Old Brothers LPCH Batch 3 is the new version of this blend created by Old Brothers. It's an invitation to discover the full richness of Jamaican rums. The three blended molasses rums are all pot-stills. They come from the Long Pond (49.2%), Clarendon (44%) and Hampden (6.8%) distilleries. The 47.1° reduction applied to this blend allows you to quietly discover its typical, funky profile.
Aging is entirely tropical, the color is natural, and bottling is carried out without cold filtration. No fewer than 7 casks were blended to create the 2662 bottles.
Nico's tasting notes
On the nose, a huge, fruity, exotic candy immediately begins to swell in the glass; it's fat and coats the walls while powerfully sending out its aromas, not without a certain roundness. Its concentration is almost palpable, resinous and deeply tropical.
Aeration tightens the profile to something drier, straighter, now with a more full-bodied, coppery character. The rum is a little more powdery, then returns to creamy fruits that melt into pastry notes with a little rest.
On the palate, our creamy exotic fruit bonbon is even more delicious than expected! The rum offers a delectable smoothness, which combines with the tropical warmth of the aromatic profile to take us into a certain heavily perfumed languor. The ease with which this rum is drunk is disconcerting, so much so that you'd almost think you were dealing with a sweet juice.
The finish offers a more pastry-like approach, with almonds, raisins and a hint of smoky olive in the length.
"It's a very fine achievement to have managed to capture the character of Jamaican rums so gently..."
