Old Forester 1870 Original Batch is a Kentucky straight bourbon. It was created in honor of George Garvin Brown who himself created Old Forester in Louisville in 1870.
For the original release of his bourbon, Mr. Brown blended barrels from three distilleries.
This more recent vintage follows the same process in its development. Indeed, the master blender selects barrels from three different distilleries. Each whisky barrel has an identification with its day of production, its age and its aromatic profile. The selected barrels are then assembled to recreate a bourbon similar to that of 1870.
