Exquisito 1985 is made by the famous House of Oliver & Oliver.
This "ron artesanal" has been aged using the solera method, which means that younger rums benefit from the maturity of older rums.
Each copy is numbered and the bottling date of the batch is indicated.
Nico's tasting notes
The first impression on the nose is one of roundness. The fruity profile of this rum is based on sweet vanilla, caramel and mild spices. The wood is tender, largely soaked, the white flesh soft and very slightly caramelized on the surface.
Aeration is more than necessary, as it reveals a rum in full possession of its means. It has opened up and found a radiant balance. Generous flowers sing the praises of gourmet American oak, full of vanilla and coconut. Velvety fruit gently wraps it all up.
The palate is soft and gentle, but not overly round. As on the nose, the seduction is irresistible. Within the soft oak, the rum has concentrated flavors of vanilla, caramel and blond tobacco, with a remarkable velvety touch. The lightly toasted wood is covered with a fine film of spicy molasses, which revives the gourmandism while continuing to caress the taste buds.
The finish is rather long, and it's at this point that the roundness is most noticeable. The rum acquires a certain chewiness, between vanilla tobacco and beeswax.
