Here's an ideal pack for discovering rum from Barbados, but also molasses rum in general. This island is considered to be the cradle of modern rum, and its distilleries have managed to evolve while preserving their traditions. They use distillation columns as well as stills, and are accustomed to blending the two methods. Bourbon casks are standard, as they are everywhere else, and these rums are described as a model of balance. However, finishing and double maturation are not uncommon, and the style is constantly reinventing itself.
