Papa Rouyo Sanblaj is an agricultural rum produced by the young Guadeloupe distillery based in Goyave and Le Moule. The distillery was founded in 2021 by a group of growers, or rather "maîtres caniers".
This is a blend of Guadeloupean rums (from the Creole sanblaj) from a selection of 5 rums aged in new French, roux, American and ex-cognac oak barrels, with different toasting profiles. Maturation took place over a period of 15 to 20 months in the distillery's cellars.
Once blended, the wood-aged rum was slowly reduced with Saint-Claude spring water, then brewed for 5 months to add finesse and complexity.
