PM Single Malt Signature 42°: Description and customer reviews

A fine example of Corsican distilling expertise: P&M Signature single malt whisky.
P as in Pietra, the brewery that brews this Single Malt.
M as in Mavela, the estate that distills Pietra's brew.
P&M was the obvious choice.
P&M Single Malt signature whisky is matured in ex-casks of white wines and muscats from the Gentile estate. It is distinguished by notes of candied oranges and vanilla topped with caramel.

Nico's tasting notes

The nose is somewhat vegetal and malty at the same time, creating a nice balance between green notes that draw on just-ripe fruit and the roundness of cereal. A light pinch of pepper later, the wood roasts and releases a touch of caramel, as well as a sensation of sweetness.

The aeration gives way to some smoky cereals, with a slightly iodized hint that takes us to a moorland or coniferous undergrowth. Something mineral has also crept into the profile, like struck flint.

On the palate, pastry spices initially take hold of the taste buds, then swell into a generous marzipan, before taking the form of cereals that become increasingly toasted. Barley then takes center stage on the midpalate, adorned with a pinch of pepper.

The finish is also devoted to barley, which eventually melts into milk chocolate.

"A gourmet whisky in which the barley takes us to see many landscapes...".
