Port Charlotte Islay Barley 2012 is a 6-year-old peated (40ppm) single malt whisky. It is produced by the Bruichladdich distillery on the island of Islay, Scotland.
This terroir-based single malt is made from malts of four barley varieties: Oxbridge, Publican, Propino and Concerto. The malts are sourced from 8 Islay farms: Coull, Rockside, Sunderland, Island, Mulindry, Starchmill, Cruach and Dunlossit.
Ageing took place in 75% first-fill ex-bourbon casks. The remaining 25% were second-fill French oak casks that had contained wine.
