Renegade Pre Cask Lake Antoine Lower Crater Lake South Pot Still 50°: Description and customer reviews

Renegade Pre Cask Lake Antoine Pot Still Lower Crater Lake South is a pure cane juice rum produced by the distillery located near Pearl, in the northeast of the island of Grenada. Mark Reynier is the owner and founder of Renegade rums, a modern brand that brings out the richness and uniqueness of terroirs in the purest expression.

Purple Tallboy (B69566) sugarcane, very rich in sucrose, is grown on the "Lower Crater Lake South" terroir. This is located on the steep slopes of the Lake Antoine volcanic crater lake. They grow on granular silty-clay soil, benefiting from a unique microclimate.

The rum was fermented for 60 hours, then distilled in September 2021 in an iron still. This cuvée delivered a total of 3156 bottles in February 2022.

I really enjoyed this rum, with its exotic notes and a not unpleasant hint of iodine (I'm not a fan) that reinforces its character. The nose is very expressive, the palate a little less so, but tasty all the same.
As much as I didn't like the Dunfermline, Pot, this one is top-notch. On the other hand, respect to the person who remembers all the names of the different rums in the range 👏
