To make this rhum arrangé, produced near Nantes, the ingredients (AOC Martinique rum, Macadamia nuts and vanilla) were placed in a barrel that had previously contained Cognac. The whole was aged for 6 months before being bottled.
Laurent's tasting notes
Its color is cloudy and small pieces of walnut swim on the surface.
On the nose, the combination of rum (well present), macadamia nut and vanilla is a success. The whole is greedy, without really giving the impression of sugar.
On the palate, the sugar is more present but well balanced with the alcohol. Aromas are also well measured, especially between rum and vanilla. The macadamia nut is relegated to the background. The chunks, which could spoil the taste, actually make it more interesting.
The finish is relatively long, offering alternating aromas of rum, vanilla and macadamia nuts, which conclude the tasting and leave a very pleasant note on the palate.
