Rhum Transat Blanc, like its XO and Millésime 2000 counterparts, was conceived by Benoît Charbonnaud, a winemaker with a passion for sailing and a love of rum. The meeting of these three characteristics has resulted in the Transat Rums.
It is a pure cane juice rum that comes from a distillery located in the North-East of Martinique...
Rhum Transat Blanc travelled 5 weeks in the holds of a ship from Martinique to France. It was then bottled in Burgundy.
Laurent's tasting note
Its colour is translucent.
On the nose, it is above all the cane juice that stands out. Then comes a mixture of banana, pear and flower. The alcohol remains quite discreet and the whole, although dry, is not without a greedy note and a slight freshness.
The alcohol is also well balanced on the palate. The attack is soft for a very short time, then the mouth becomes dry and there too on the cane which reigns without sharing.
The finish is rather long and dry, dominated by cane and a light lime.
