Ron 1914 is a traditional rum from the Las Cabras distillery.
Distilled from local molasses, it is aged in bourbon barrels in a tropical climate, before being blended and bottled on site.
Nico's tasting notes
On the nose, this is a rum that has taken full advantage of its barrel. The aromas are caramelized, even toasted. Molasses crackles on the wood and nuts smoke like freshly roasted coffee. With a little air, it rids itself of its lighter notes and gains in concentration. Orange liqueur, coconut and roasted chestnuts emerge.
The palate is spicy and dark, with a hint of molasses. Licorice and coffee enter naturally, soon joined by toasted oak. The rum then relaxes, wrapping the tongue in a sweet envelope of vanilla and caramel.
The finish is round and delicious, with vanilla and a hint of coconut.
