Ron de Jeremy Holy Wood Armagnac Cask 21 ans 49,2°: Description and customer reviews

Ron de Jeremy Holy Wood Armagnac Cask 21 ans is the second rum in the trilogy to be aged partly in French oak barrels. This molasses rum was distilled in 1998. It comes from the legendary Enmore column in Guyana. The first two years of aging were carried out on site, in the Demerara region, in bourbon casks. It was then transferred to Armagnac casks, where it spent a further 8 years. Finally, it was matured in ex-rum casks for a further 11 years!

This 21-year-old rum comes from a single cask. It has been bottled brut de fût in 245 bottles.

Nico's tasting notes

The nose is rather light and floral, with very fresh fruit and a hint of fine spices. A slightly bitter, yet fragrant, geranium-like whiff emerges from the floral bouquet.

Aeration does nothing to detract from this resolutely light side, and the rum floats quietly above the glass. Flowers are joined by slightly sweet fruits, such as plum, and a fine layer of marzipan.

On the palate, the attack has a slight bite, quickly swallowed by a more coated wave. Lightness is still the order of the day, and slightly bitter flowers settle in every corner of the palate. Wood remains in the background, but doesn't fail to dispense its vanilla notes, as well as a slight astringent sensation.

The finish is a little more peppery and dry.

"A resolutely light Enmore, which develops a surprising floral register..."
