In early 2024, Martinique's Saint James and its cellar master, Marc Sassier, presented us with an 18-year-old rum.
This rum joins the range of "distillery age counts" after the 7, 9, 12 and 15 year olds.
Distilled and casked in 2004, this rum was not bottled until 2022. Aging took place in ex-bourbon American oak barrels.
Bottling took place in 2023, after resting in vats. No topping-up or reduction was carried out.
This is a limited edition of 2,000.
