Sample X Labourdonnais is a pure cane juice rum produced in Mauritius at the Labourdonnais distillery, currently run by Mickael Derunes.
This rum was column distilled in December 2010, then stored for 7 long years on site in stainless steel tanks. It was not until 2018 that it was transferred to bourbon barrels to acquire its golden hue. Its actual age is kept secret, given this atypical journey.
A total of 296 bottles were drawn from a single cask in 2021. The rum was bottled brut de fût, i.e. at its natural degree.
It's a collaboration between Belgium's The Rum Mercenary and Holland's Kintra Spirits.
