Shack Rum Orange 40

Shack Rum Orange is based on a blend of traditional 5 year old rums from Barbados, Guatemala and Trinidad.

This blend was made in an ex-xeres oak barrel to which vanilla, lemon andorange peel were added.

All ingredients are natural.

Nico's tasting note

The nose is unsurprisingly very orangey, with a sweet, slightly vanilla-like orange syrup. The atmosphere is round and warm, with a little freshness of zest. The rum is slightly spicy, and some finely spiced notes come through after a while, although the orange peel oil largely dominates.

The palate is very smooth, and in contrast to the nose, the rum is an equal match for the orange. Indeed, some ripe exotic fruits start the journey on the palate, before giving way to freshly collected orange peel, and then to a slightly spicy orange syrup.
