Squadron 303 Vodka D-Day Calvados cask finish Flask 40°: Description and customer reviews

To mark the 75th anniversary of the D-DAY landings, Squadron 303 has launched a limited edition of its vodka, D-DAY Calvados Cask Finish.

This edition is the very first vodka matured in Calvados casks. It is the result of a collaboration between Squadron 303 and the Coquerel distillery. This unusual blend of English potatoes (King Edward) and Normandy apples brings out specific notes.

An anecdote lies at the origin of this creation. It turns out that after the landings, some Polish pilots were delivering their vodka to the Allies. To do this, they attached barrels under the wings of their Spitfires. At that time, the troops were stationed in Normandy. This explains why some of the barrels used for this unusual transport had previously contained Calvados.
