Stade's Rum is a brand of the West Indies Rum Distillery. Launched in 2021, it was initially reserved for the USA and Barbados.
In partnership with the Confrérie du Rhum, Stade's Rum announces its arrival in France and presents its first vintage.
This first edition announces the creation of a new mark from the WIRD distillery called “Jaws”. The latter displays an ester level between 600 and 700 g/hlap.
As for rum, it is distilled in a pot still from molasses. It benefits from a short aging of 6 months in bourbon barrels.
Bottled for the 10th anniversary of the rum brotherhood, this vintage is a limited edition of 996 copies.
Nico's tasting notes
On the nose , there is no doubt, we are in the family of well-muscled “rums”, overflowing with very ripe exotic fruits. Jackfruit is the first that comes to mind, and it quickly takes over the room.
Aeration develops an even more concentrated and exuberant character, with a solvent that coats all of the overripe fruits that seem to fall from the trees by the dozens, shattering to the ground releasing their sweet and sour flesh.
The palate is typical of a great aroma rum, with a certain dryness on the attack, coupled with a clear acidity. Behind this slightly metallic entry, we find a fireworks display of very ripe exotic fruits with melting and tangy flesh. The texture then becomes more and more creamy, until you forget the power displayed.
The finish is extremely long, and synthesizes everything we saw on the palate, with a delicious and pastry-like length.
