Takamaka Koko is a liqueur made from a blend of white rums. The Trois Frères distillery mainly produces two types of rum:
- a heavy rum of the agricultural type, distilled in pot stills
- and a lighter rum (“light”) distilled in a column.
The infusion is made here with natural coconut extract. We recommend tasting Takamaka Koko “on the rocks” or in a cocktail (in a Piña Colada for example).
Yoann's tasting notes
Unsurprisingly, the nose of this liqueur is straightforward. Coconut aromas are predominant. This freshly cracked nut is still full of its coconut water. A split vanilla pod releases its aromas to complement this fresh nose.
The palate is remarkably smooth. Sweet cane juice blended with coconut water takes its place. This duo, like the nose, is accompanied by notes of vanilla. The rum used brings some mineral and vegetal notes that are difficult to distinguish.
The finish stays the course with this frank coconut.
